Health Hope: Free Medical Outreach for 3,000 Internally Displaced Persons in Upper Nkam Division

Objectives:

– Improve access to quality healthcare for 3,000 IDPs and community members

– Reduce the prevalence of infectious diseases through early detection and treatment

– Enhance health awareness and education among vulnerable populations

– Provide essential medications to 100% of patients in need

– Strengthen community resilience through integrated healthcare services

Healthcare Services:

– HIV testing and counseling

– Eye care consultations

– Malaria testing

– Typhoid testing

– Fever treatment

– General consultations

– Distribution of essential medications

Partners/Collaborators:

Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) Hospital and local healthcare professionals and volunteers.

Impact and Achievements:

– 3,200 individuals received free medical consultations and treatments (exceeding target)

– 1,500 HIV tests conducted, with 95% of patients receiving counseling

– 800 eye care consultations, with 250 patients receiving corrective eyewear

– 1,200 malaria tests conducted, treating 500 positive cases

– 2,000 patients received treatment for typhoid and fever

– 100% of patients received essential medications.

Duration:  June – August 2021 (3 months)
